Registered Social Worker
She/her
I am a Masters level registered social worker offering individual therapy to adults and adolescent girls. My work experience includes proving mental health services in community mental health as well as police and military settings. I have formal training in treatment for trauma (PTSD) and mood disruptions such as anxiety and depression. I draw on a variety of evidence based, therapeutic approaches such as CBT and PET (Prolonged Exposure Therapy) to best meet my client’s needs and goals.
Born in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, my father was in the military so my family moved frequently across Canada and Europe. As a young person, I travelled around in Canada doing a variety of jobs, believing that eventually I would attend art school and become an artist. One of these jobs, teaching arts and crafts on a Northern Ontario Reserve, was my first exposure to systemic racism and inspired me to become a social worker.
Over the years, as I developed a strong interest in the treatment of mental health especially trauma, I pursued specialized training and transitioned into providing treatment. I am also interested in the mind and body connection (the interaction between physical and mental health) and took training in Florida to become a yoga therapist (Integrative Yoga Therapy). My goal is to provide a collaborative, compassionate environment to support my clients on their journey of healing.
